Warriors continue to lay chalk in NBA Championship futures odds

USA Today Images

Despite their historically disappointing loss to the Los Angeles Lakers this past weekend, the Golden State Warriors remain ahead of the pace set by the 1995/1996 Chicago Bulls in the chase for the best regular season record in NBA history. Through 62 games the Warriors win/loss record sits at 56-6 and the Jordan-led Bulls were 55-7 after their first 62 games.

Back in February we pointed out the amazing turn in the NBA Championship futures odds, where the Dubs shifted from Even money to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy to actually being the favorites over the rest of the field.

We thought the futures deserved an update as there have been a few changes. It's still a three-team race according to the Westgate LV Superbook with the Warriors (still laying chalk at 4/5), the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the San Antonio Spurs separated from the pack. The Cavs have dropped slightly (5/2 to 3/1), the Spurs have come up a bit (4/1 to 7/2), and the Oklahoma City Thunder have dropped which has created even more separation (14/1 to 18/1).

Let's all take a moment to pause and be thankful that we aren't Denver Nuggets fans (and if you are a fan of the Nuggets, I'm very sorry).
