New Jersey Residents Giddy On Eve Of Online Gambling Launch

Published on November 25, 2013 by April Gardner

New Jersey residents are not any strangers to gambling. They've one of the vital lucrative land-based casino industries within the US, but that didn't stop lawmakers from expanding gambling last year to incorporate online casinos, a move that may be expected to usher in millions in tax revenue.

While the AC casinos running the net sites and the state work out the right way to divide up the revenue, gamblers are salivating on the idea of logging right into a casino from their home computers, and playing for real money. Online gambling begins officially in New Jersey on Tuesday.

"I've been looking ahead to my whole life to look this happen," said New Jersey resident Stan Rickard. "All there was up formerly is talk amongst lawmakers, but Tuesday will mark the day action was taken."

Rickard said he plans on being probably the most first people to login and play for real money. While the brand new law was enacted to assist free online poker restrictions, it's the slot machines that almost all gamblers are waiting for playing.

"Getting online to play poker was never much of a challenge," Said Henry Thomas. "But I WANT to peer how the real casinos are laid out online. It will be a fun day for everybody that have been fighting for Internet gambling regulations."

Las Vegas Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson has launched his own personal attack on Internet gambling this past week. Adelson believes the activity need to be banned on a federal level, something that New Jersey has no real interest in doing.

"We've all been waiting a very long time for this," said Brandon Glass, an avid poker player. "It's almost surreal that the day has finally come after I can sit in my lounge and place bets from a pc. I SIMPLY CAN'T wait until I AM GETTING back live in an internet poker room."

Atlantic City casinos are hoping to realize the revenue benefits from poker players desperate to return to the virtual tables. It's expected that hundreds of millions of bucks in tax revenue can be generated for brand new Jersey.
