From today until Sunday, the Casino de Espinho hosts the third and last event of the primary season of the PokerStars Portugal Poker Series. The tournament follows the primary successful stages in Vilamoura last April, and Figueira da Foz in June.
Today's €770 event starts at 2pm local time, and players gets 15,000 starting chips to play 60-minute levels. In other words, it's an inexpensive buy-in with a big-tournament structure.
A few miles clear of Oporto, the second one biggest Portuguese city, Casino de Espinho has the largest poker site in Portugal and is the standard home of the largest tournaments within the country, excluding the 2 EPT stages held in Vilamoura in seasons 6 and seven. With a capacity of as much as 300 players, that is expected to be the most important poker tournament of the year in Portugal and the most important prize pool as well.
Moreover, Casino de Espinho is true beside the beach and, with unusual temperatures for this time of the year of 30ºC, do not be surprised if you happen to see the cream of Portuguese poker players, including Team PokerStars Pros Nuno Coelho , Henrique Pinho and João Nunes, taking a dip right before heading to the tables.
