While we wait to peer what if any the results of Brexit may well be at the online poker marketplace, one small shake-up which had nothing to do with the United Kingdom's vote to depart the ecu Union was recently announced with mybet Holding SE advising its customers that it's closing its poker room.

According to Poker Industry Pro, the web poker operator announced the shutdown could be effective on June 30 via a press release on its website that has since been removed.

Once the poker accounts are closed, customers will automatically have their balances moved to the principle wallet because the casino and sports book — either one of that have been performing better for the corporate — will continue to function and become the company's main focus. Additionally, any player points from online poker will also be converted into cash until July 15.

"It’s been a great time we had at mybet Poker, but even good stuff sometimes come to an end," shared mybet in a statement.

In a statement in regards to the shutdown, mybet Holding SE Manager Investor & Public Relations Manager Sebastian Bucher listed the dearth of revenue being generated from poker because the primary explanation for the verdict to near the virtual room.

"The group generated revenues of around EUR 1.0 million within the financial year 2015 from Poker, in comparison to annual total revenues of EUR 63.0 million," the click release stated. "Since 2014, the corporate is conducting a fundamental strategic reorientation."

The statement added that the corporate may be specializing in its core casino and sports wagering operations while also planning to roll out a brand new platform throughout the summer.

"Key focus is the sports betting and casino games in addition to the implementation of a brand new high-performance IT platform for the entire product range," explained Bucher. "The introduction of the brand new platform is planned to happen between the center of July and the start of August."

Zeno Osskó, Chief Executive Officer of mybet Holdings SE, voiced similar sentiments in regards to the decision to near the net poker room.

"The poker business contributed with just a minor share to our revenue and delivered virtually no contribution to the operating results of the group," noted Osskó. "In addition, we don't see a sufficient growth potential on this area to support the operational turnaround within the short term. From our point of view, continuing our Poker offering was not expedient, especially within the light of the impending introduction of the brand new mybet platform."

The mybet skin was known to be some of the smaller ones at the iPoker Network. Currently iPoker is the fifth most trafficked online poker site in keeping with PokerScout, with 1,000 ring-game players on a seven-day rolling average. This puts them in a virtual tie with partypoker who's listed in fourth place at the site with an identical amount of ring-game players.

Players on other iPoker skins will likely not notice any difference before or after the closure, because the online poker site contributed negligibly to the whole network's liquidity.
