iGaming Business – National US daily newspaper USA Today has unveiled plans to launch a fantasy sports gaming website that allows you to deal with daily tournament-style games.
According to the Adage.com website, Fantasy Score will allow players to compete in daily fantasy NFL American football games, with games involving NBA basketball, NHL ice hockey and MLB baseball because of be introduced within the coming months.
The new service will initially earn revenue from selling display adverts and local advertising, sponsorship and game management fees.
Mark Pesavento, vice-president of innovation on the USA Today Sports Media Group, said that when a definite scale was achieved, a chain of branded events and tournaments would even be rolled out.
Fantasy Score can be promoted on USA Today Sport across print and its network of digital sports properties, reminiscent of the large Lead and HoopsHype.
The new service will now rival established operations reminiscent of FanDuel, which controls greater than 65% of the market, and DraftStreet, which was acquired by DraftKings earlier this year.
