The Betting Corner: Can Mario Balotelli Really Make A Difference?

The Betting Corner is your one-stop shop to find what's hot in sports betting and grab some useful betting tips from our friends at BookieSmash, iBus Media Network's newest online portal devoted to sports betting.

This week we glance at Europe's best coaches and at Mario Balotelli's new adventure in England's Premier League. Can "Super Mario" lead Liverpool to the title?

These Five Coaches Make Every Game Exciting

At Bookiesmash, we adore football, but what we adore much more is the drama behind the sport. A LARGE NUMBER OF that drama is created by coaches who, through their strength of character, can get that extra little bit of effort out in their players, or get the players to boost their game by getting them to think smarter.

Many of the coaches on this week's countdown do this... but some don't, as you will see. It is all good fun - football is, after all, a game of opinions. Discover who're Europe's five best coaches.

Real Problems for Madrid

Real Madrid, champions of Europe, are struggling. Maybe it's just early-season nerves, maybe it is the problem of again having to integrate such a lot of new players, but they do not seem like the dominant team of last season.

To go from two goals up against Real Sociedad to losing the match was incredible - and doubtless means the fight on the top of l. a. Liga can be more intense than ever. Next up, after the international players return from their matches, they have some even scarier opponents to fret about.

Meanwhile, we glance at Barcelona's perfect start, and why they could have something to fret about now that Lionel Messi is injured. Atletico Madrid have made another great signing, and we run the rule of thumb over last season's surprise champions, who appear to have further strengthened their side this time around. Atletico are 22/5 with Betfair to win next Saturday. Read more about Spain's La Liga.

Unbelievable Scenes within the Premier League

There were a couple of shocks in England last week - from Manchester United continuing their winless run to Mario Balotelli joining a brand new team and behaving himself.

United actually need to show their season around; they've signed Radamel Falcao on loan, but is he a panic signing, or a matchwinner for them? The similar might be asked of Balotelli - a ticking timebomb, some say, who will cause Brendan Rodgers more problems than he's worth.

The Liverpool manager, of course, did an excellent job of keeping Luis Suarez (one bite aside) under control - but Balotelli is a complete different player and man. We explain why the signs from his debut at White Hart Lane against Tottenham were promising.

The Reds next need to deal with Aston Villa. We explore why Paul Lambert and Roy Keane, against all odds and expectations, including our own, have turned Villa right into a team that nobody desires to face on current form.

Consequently, an excellent bet is a 1-1 draw, 12/1 with Bet365. Meanwhile, United step directly to QPR, where Harry Redknapp believes, in Rio Ferdinand, he has the person to foil Louis van Gaal's attacking plans.
