An Italian player won €125,000 on the final table of IPT Sanremo.
PokerStars qualifier Federico Piroddi beat a field of 1,010 entries on the Casino Municipale, where the Italian Poker Tour generated a €617,211 prize pool.
Piroddi's heads up opponent was PokerStars Qualifier Dario Sammartino, from Italy, who took second place for €95,000.
The final action saw Piroddi go all-in far behind his opponent's hand with A♥3♠ against A♦J♣, however the following lucky board gave him victory and trophy: 3♥9♠7♥6♥T♠
The IPT's next stop may be in Saint Vincent November 28 - December 3.
The IPT Saint Vincent Grand Final could be played again with the "accumulator" format.This up to date tournament format is breaking new ground for tournament poker. The format, which has similarities to the preferred "Repechage" format, means the IPT Saint Vincent can be played over three Day 1s.
The accumulator tournament will allow players who make it through Day 1A to also buy into Day 1B and/or Day 1C starting on a daily basis with a brand new chip stack. Any chips left on the end of every Day 1 played may be accumulated and brought through to the beginning of Day 2.
