According to the WPT live blog, action resumed in Level 24 (12,000/24,000/4,000) and it didn’t take long for Jake Vo (31st - $15,109) to become the primary elimination of the day.

On the very next hand, Matt Glantz shoved all in from the button for 253,000 with the A-Spades 2-Hearts , and Scott Matte called from the massive blind with the 5-Hearts 5-Diamonds . Glantz indicated that he had only checked out the ace when he shoved, and while he paired his kicker at the j-Spades 10-Hearts 2-Clubs flop, that may be the entire help he’d get because the 10-Diamonds blanked at the turn followed by the 10-Spades at the river. Glantz was eliminated in 30th place and took home $15,109 for his efforts.

From there, the eliminations came at a gentle pace and included New Yorker Eugene Todd (28th - $15,109); two-time WPT champ Cornel Cimpan (22nd - $17,385); World Series of Poker Europe champ Barry Shulman (18th - $20,996); Canadian Erik Cajelais (16th - $20,996); and previous WPT Borgata winner Bobby Oboodi (12th - $46,701), who was the last former WPT champ within the field.

From there, Matte (11th - $46,701), Zo Karim (10th - $46,701), Ory Hen (9th - $71,621), Nicholas Gerrity (8th - $100,073), and Jean “Prince” Gaspard (7th - $135,393) were eliminated from contention.

Gaspard, who began the day as a large chip leader, fell in Level 32 (80,000/160,000/20,000) available #171 of the unofficial final table when Kalas opened for 365,000 under the gun and Gaspard shoved for 1.255 million. Elias called from the cutoff, Kalas came along, after which the 2 active players checked the 10-Hearts 7-Hearts 6-Diamonds flop. When the J-Diamonds appeared at the turn, Kalas bet 915,000, Elias called, and both players returned to checking. Kalas tabled the q-Hearts q-Spades , Elias mucked, and Gaspard showed the a-Spades 10-Diamonds for a losing pair of tens.

The final six players will return at 4 p.m. ET on Friday to minimize to a winner. Who will capture the $843,744 first-place prize? Stay tuned to PokerNews for a recap upon completion of play.
