Yesterday we wrote that that whilst High Roller tournaments are supposedly the preserve of the elite, "known" pro that really didn't seem to be the case in the EPT12 Prague €10,000 High Roller.
A cursory glance at the final 18 players, who've just returned to play the third and final day of this tournament, adds weight to this theory. Whilst the chip leader is definitely a 'name' looking through the list there are, perhaps, only another five names that the casual poker fan would recognise.
But, back to the top because Kevin MacPhee is definitely a bona fide poker superstar. EPT champion, EPT runner-up, two-time WSOP bracelet winner, including winning the WSOPE Main Event this year in Berlin - which is, of course, where he won his EPT title as well.
The American brings a stack of 1,576,000 into the day which gives him the slenderest of leads (literally) from Felix Bleiker, he finished on 1,575,000, just 1,000 back!

Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst lies in sixth place, she held the chip lead for portions of the latter stages of Day 2 play, as did Daniel 'Jungleman' Cates, who returns with 997,000. And Ihar Soika could win his second EPT High Roller, having triumphed at EPT11 Barcelona.
With this event attracting a record-breaking 315 entrants (252 unique entries and 63 re-entries) the payout structure decreed that 47 players would see a return on their investment and the last player to leave with nothing was Pavel Binar. Following the Czech's demise the eliminations were rapid with: Craig McCorkell (45th), Simon Deadman (40th), Anton Wigg (33rd), John Juanda (29th), Ivan Soshnikov (25th), Stephen Chidwick (23rd) and Mike Watson (20th) among those to make the money.
The final 18 are all guaranteed at least €31,480 but play on for a first prize of €595,500.
