Weekend Review: WCOOP Challenge Series highlights big weekend on PokerStars

The WCOOP Championship Series dominated the weekend, and can continue to headline things going into Monday. The overall two events of the Series conclude later today, with both events slimmed down significantly from their starting fields of thousands.

Here's how things will search for the re-start.

The name that leaps out from the development #8 line up is that of Tom "Hitthehole" Middleton. We featured Middleton in our preview of the Series on Friday, for the reason that his track record included an EPT Barcelona win and victory within the most up-to-date WCOOP Challenge Series Main Event in March. Now the young British pro is heading in the right direction for yet one more deep run, currently sitting third in chips.

While Event #8 gets underway in around three hours from now (14:30 ET) Event #9 will restart an hour later, with Swiss player Luj0 1989 out in front, with a primary prize of $502,165 up for grabs.

Here are all of the other big stories from the weekend.
