Battle of the Planets: ssv1978 locks up a $12K win in FebruaryNO Deposit bonus $43
^

This month's edition of the $50,000 Battle of the Planets triple shootout freeroll was about perseverance. TRICKI1 could be knocked right down to a chip count early on that the majority poker players would toss in thinking their tournament time was over and move directly to the following one. Instead, TRICKI1 went from earning $1,700.00 in seventh place to $4,500.00 in third place after finally being knocked out by the eventual champion from the Ukraine ssv1978. Read below for the tale of the way they claimed that cash.

The first round and money bubble would come right down to VIP SilverStar salamon10 and green6label out on Table 77. The winner would lock up $195.00 and also have a shot on the $12,000.00 on the final table. With the blinds at 150/300 ante 25 green6label holding a large 7,360 to 1,640 chip lead, would keep the pressure on with a shove from the button. salamon10 seeking to swim upstream called immediately with pocket jacks [Jc][Js]. green6label's [8c][3h] looked very modest until a couple of eights and a trey hit the [8h] [Td] [3d] [9s] [8d] board and busted salamon10 harshly at the bubble.

At the beginning of the second one round an excessively familiar name within the tournament realm popped up almost as quickly as salamon10's exit. If there is a tournament at PokerStars, Calvin "cal42688" Anderson has likely won it. Sunday Warm-Up? Check. WCOOP? Check. SCOOP? Check. Main Event Passport? Check. Unfortunately, Mr. Anderson wouldn't add a Battle of the Planets victory to his trophy case today, busting right after winning his first table in 81st place ($195.00).

scorpchess will be the first to say a last table seat tonight. The Russian player has made waves at big final tables before after chopping up the Sunday Warm-Up in April last year for $80,500.00. Two fellow countrypersons would join scorpchess as Shmotka and clausdorf4 claimed the second one and third seat on the table. Shmotka is asking to enhance on a 9th place finish on this freeroll back in August last year.

Down to the last seat carpanizle sat with a 3,926 to 9,574 chip deficit and blinds at 150/300 ante 25 against Sickofitall5 and decided to check luck with a shove holding pocket fives [5h][5c]. Sickofitall5 responded with a choice while showing [Ts][Kc] and was immediately given more outs at the [8d][Jh][9c] flop. The [6c] turn didn't change anything however the [Qs] river gave Sickofitall5 a straight and locking up $775.00 for making the overall table.

Seat 1: Reiarturo (1500 in chips)
Seat 2: clausdorf4 (1500 in chips)
Seat 3: scorpchess (1500 in chips)
Seat 4: TRICKI1 (1500 in chips)
Seat 5: Caber89 (1500 in chips)
Seat 6: kiltedmich (1500 in chips)
Seat 7: Sickofitall5 (1500 in chips)
Seat 8: Shmotka (1500 in chips)
Seat 9: ssv1978 (1500 in chips)

The first blind level can be sprinkled with nine-way chop talks between 1/2 the table while the opposite half perceived to ignore the potential for locking up nearly four thousand dollars.

Early exit for Reiarturo

A call it a semi-bluff gone really wrong. Early within the 15/30 blind level ssv1978 would raise to 70 from the small blind as Reiarturo three-bet to 210. ssv1978 called to peer an all-diamond flop [9d][4d][7d] and checked immediately. Reiarturo led out for 225 as ssv1978 popped out the opening to check-raise to 450. Holding big slick and the second one biggest diamond [Kd][Ac] Reiarturo shoved for 1,160 chips. Unfortunately for Reiarturo, ssv1978 held the largest diamond along side the trey [Ad][3d] for the nut flush and reducing Reiarturo probabilities of winning to zero. Left with 45 chips Reiarturo would donate them to Caber89 at the next hand to complete in ninth place ($775.00).

Nearly a double

The 25/50 and 50/100 blind levels would pass easily enough as kiltedmuch continued to check out and around the troops for an eight way chop. Instead because the blinds moved as much as 75/150 a three-way hand would knock one player out and cripple another. Watch below for the action:

RSS readers please click through to view video

TRICKI1 tried to snatch the pot with the flopped top pair [Jd][6d] and a re-draw to a straight after everyone checked the flop [Jh] [4c] [3s] [5c] but that backfired when scorpchess shoved with the turned wheel [Ad][2c]. clausdorf4 [As][8c] will be the odd person out after the [Js] river earning $1,200.00 in eighth place.

Shorty gains money

Knocked right down to under 200 chips, TRICKI1 would survive long enough to transport up the pay scale because the blinds moved as much as 100/200 kiltedmuch would shove from the cutoff for 1,972 chips holding pocket threes [3s][3c]. Folded to ssv1978 within the big blind who covered and made the decision with [Ah][Jd]. Good race and hello to kiltedmuch as an ace hit the door [As] [Tc] [7s] [2h] [5c] and UK player took $1,700.00 in seventh place.

Possible chip and a chair story within the making
TRICKI1 would continue the ascent to a potential five figure payday as yet one more player could be relieved in their chip stack. With the blinds holding at 100/200 it'd be TRICKI1's turn to become the executioner as short-stacked Sickofitall5 with just 612 chips would shove from the hijack seat and TRICKI1 made the decision within the big blind with a few hearts [Jh][3h]. Strangely, Sickofitall5 held just a couple of wheel cards [2h][5d] that missed the [Qh] [Qc] [7h] [3d] [6c] board completely shipping $2,200.00 to Sickofitall5 in sixth place.

Caber tosses Shmotka

While the caber toss is a conventional Scottish event Caber89 used a few virtual cards in preference to a protracted wooden pole to knock out Shmotka. Four hands after Sickofitall5 left, Caber89 would min-raise from the cutoff as Shmotka shoved for 1,957 at the button with pocket jacks [Jh][Js]. Caber89's aces [As][Ac] made the decision a very easy one because the [8d] [8h] [2s] [6d] [9h] board showed zero face cards as Shmotka picked up $2,735.00 in fifth place.

It's Tricky!

With the blinds moving as much as 125/250 ante 25 TRICKI1 holding just three chips greater than scorpchess would call the Russian's shove from the small blind holding [Ac][7s]. It was an excellent call as scorpchess flipped up [Js][9s]. Despite picking up a straight draw at the flop, scorpchess found nothing [7d] [Qc] [8d] [5c] [3h] at the board to assist out as scorpchess took home $3,350.00 in fourth place.

Almost made it

A good story always has a conclusion and TRICKI1's conclusion would are available in third place. With the blinds moving as much as 150/300 ante 25 TRICKI1 would shove from the button for 2,637 chips as ssv1978 waiting a couple of moments before calling with pocket nines [9h][9s]. One overcard for TRICKI1's [Ks][8c] to hit and it didn't because the [5h] [6d] [Qd] [7h] [Tc] board favored ssv1978 ending an excellent comeback tale for TRICKI1 in third place ($4,500.00).

YEAH! Becomes OMG NO! (or the opposite direction around)

Watch below for the general hand of the tournament as Caber89 holding pocket tens [Ts][Th] is all-in preflop against ssv1978's big slick [Kh][Ah] for a 10,924 chip pot:

RSS readers please click through to view video

ssv1978 would flop top pair [Kd][5c][Td] but Caber89's set of tens was way out in front. Needing a runner-runner ssv1978 got one at the turn [Ks] and the $12,000.00 ace at the river [Ad] to win the February edition of the Battle of the Planets triple shootout!

PCA 2016: Bahama Mamas all roundNO Deposit bonus $43

Something happened last night. Something extremely fun and entertaining. And while it was on no account forgettable, I AM NOT sure many of us will commit it to memory with crystal clear clarity.

I'm talking, of course, about last night's PokerStars players party here on the PCA. If you've never been to one, you actually owe it to yourself to check out and attend this kind of shindigs.

Party-PCA 2016-5829.jpg

All you must do is play the primary event, so why not attempt to qualify for next year's PCA or an EPT/LAPT?

Ready to join PokerStars? Click here to get an account.

First of all - there is a free bar. The Bahama Mamas were flowing so far as the attention could see.

Secondly, there's free food. And there is no expense spared here on the PCA; from exotic mini burgers and delicious Cajun chicken to exquisite canapés and...we mentioned the free bar, right?

Then there's the entertainment. This year the PCA has transformed the ballroom at Atlantis right into a Cirque du Soleil-esque extravaganza.

Two men painted gold like Oscars performing physical feats that experience to be seen to be believed; a girl manoeuvring 15 hula hoops round her body quite simply; acrobats dangling from the ceiling; it really was quite remarkable to watch.

Party-PCA 2016-5774.jpg

Party-PCA 2016-5748.jpg

So, who was in attendance? Well, let's start with the PokerStars Team: Daniel Negreanu, Liv Boeree, Bertrand 'Elky' Grospellier, Eugene Katchalov, Jake Cody, Jason Mercier, Andre Akkari, Felipe Ramos, and Fatima Moreira de Melo were all in attendance.

Party-PCA 2016-5815.jpg

So were the high rollers: Mike McDonald, Ole Schemion and Fedor Holz are only some of the big names we saw enjoying themselves.

Sadly, all great things must come to an end - or do they? When the official PokerStars party was drawing to a close, hundreds simply made the fast walk over to the fantastic Aura nightclub here at the Atlantis resort.

And the Bahama mamas continued to flow. Our heads are very sore this morning, but boy did we've got an excellent time.

Party-PCA 2016-5854.jpg

Get yourself out to the PCA next year and you will see all of it for yourself. Satellites for next year's PokerStars Carribean Adventure and all the EPT and LAPT stops are running right now.

We mentioned the free bar, right? --JS

ESPT6 Barcelona: Level 23-26 updatesNO Deposit bonus $43

Click here to continue with Level 27 updates.

4:26 p.m.: Break time

Players have reached the second one 20-minute break of the day. There are 37 left.

4:12 p.m.: Garcia, Lopez, Selles lead final 40

They at the moment are right down to 40 players within the Estrellas Barcelona Main Event, gathered around five tables within the far corner of the primary poker room, a perfect contrast to the sooner days of the development when one and all of the hundred-plus tables within the spacious playing area were filled.

Jose Carlos Garcia of Poland continues to steer everyone today, currently sitting with with reference to 8 million or with reference to thrice the typical on the moment.

Meanwhile Argentina's Mario Lopez have been steadily accumulating as well, and is now as much as 7.25 million, with Daniel Selles of Spain in third position with about 5.9 million.

4:04 p.m.: Anapolska doubles up

Antonina Anapolska just earned a timely double-up through Benjamin Garcia to stay a few of the final 42 players.

All in for her last 560,000 with A♥K♦ versus Garcia's 7♠7♦, the board ran out Q♦T♦2♠J♦9♣, adding as much as a straight for Anapolska who now has about 1.2 million.

3:51 p.m.: Sabic sunk

Online high-stakes pro Sebastien "Seb86" Sabic battled with a brief stack for far of the primary three-plus levels today, but has finally seen his ESPT Barcelona run lead to 43rd after committing the last of his 400,000 or so against Dermot Blain.

Sabic had A♦J♦ and Blain 5♦5♥. The flop came 4♦6♠5♠ to offer Blain a set, then the 2♦ turn kept Sabic's hopes alive for a pot-splitting straight. The river was the 8♣, however, and Sabic is out. Blain meanwhile is now as much as about 1.8 million.

3:25 p.m.: Level 26 begins

The blinds are actually 25,000/50,000 with a 5,000 ante. 45 players remain.

3:15 p.m.: Krumhard KO'd by Sanchez

Joe Konrad Krumhard open-raised all in for his last 210,000 from under the gun, and it folded to Albert Mykhaylyuta who called the frenzy. Then Eduard Sanchez, sitting to Mykhaylyuta's left, reraised to 575,000.

It folded around and Mykhaylyuta engaged Sanchez in some conversation for a short time before giving up his hand.

Sanchez turned over A♥K♠ and Krumhard 9♥9♠. The flop came 2♠A♠5♣ to position Sanchez in front, then after the 3♣ turn and K♦ river he claimed the pot to send Krumhard to the rail.

3:08 p.m.: Puccini sent out by Sennhauser

Simon Peter Sennhauser opened from the button, and after Mario Puccini reraise-shoved his short stack from the small blind, Sennhauser called.

It was A♥Q♥ for Puccini and A♣J♥ for Sennhauser. The 4♦8♦J♦ flop hit Sennhauser's hand, and after the 2♥ turn and 5♥ river, Puccini was eliminated.

There are 48 players remaining.

2:54 p.m.: Garcia's stack grows further

The Jose Carlos Garcia express keeps rolling, that small hit to his stack a little bit earlier versus Carmelo Romeo hardly slowing him down.

A hand just arose that saw Jonn Forst -- sporting a large stack himself -- open from the button, Garcia reraise from the small blind, then Joel Wikstrom shove all in a brief stack from the large blind. Forst called the push, but if Garcia reraised all in, Forst stepped aside.

Garcia showed A♣Q♥ and had the threshold versus Wikstrom's A♥J♥. The community cards came A♦3♥T♣6♣3♠, and Wikstrom was eliminated.

Garcia stacked up his chips, looking as much as say "8.1" after he did -- i.e., 8.1 million, a couple of million away from the chase pack now with 53 players remaining.

2:41 p.m.: Novikova no more

After surviving along with her below average stack for the primary a part of Day 3, Liliya Novikova of Team PokerStars Pro Online finally lost the last of her chips because the field shrinks down toward the 50-player mark.

2:36 p.m.: Romeo doubles through leader Garcia

The table folded around to Carmelo Romeo within the small blind who open-pushed his stack of about 435,000. Chip leader Jose Carlos Garcia snap-called from the large blind, and when he tabled his Q♥Q♦, Romeo said "unbelievable" as he turned over T♠T♦.

Romeo leaned forward to look at the flop, and when a 10 appeared within the window -- the cards coming T♥6♦9♥ -- he crouched a little, his posture non-verbally communicating one word -- "hold." Hold his set did, because the turn was the 5♦ and river the 3♠, and Romeo keeps his seat although continues to be below the average.

Garcia, meanwhile, remains in front with 64 players left, with a stack of 5.6 million.

2:25 p.m.: Level 25 begins

The blinds are actually 20,000/40,000 with a 5,000 ante.

2:04 p.m.: Break time

They've reached the primary break of the day, with 67 players left. Start-of-day leader Jose Carlos Garcia remains to be the frontrunner, having now built his stack up around 5.8 million.

ESPT Barcelona-511 Jose Carlos Garcia.jpg

Jose Carlos Garcia

1:43 p.m.: Marti Roca de Torres taken out

Fernando Heredia of Spain ended Day 1A of this event because the chip leader, and he's still alive and continuing to thrive here on Day 3.

Just now Heredia was in a preflop all-in situation versus his fellow countryman, Marti Roca de Torres, with the latter all in for his last 276,000 with A♦K♠ versus Heredia's 8♥8♦. The board came T♥6♠7♥, then 3♥, then A♥, that river card pairing de Torres but creating a flush for Heredia.

Heredia came over the table to present de Torres a hug, and de Torres departed. The sector has now already shrunk below 70 players.

1:19 p.m.: Akkari cut down

The last Team PokerStars Pro have been eliminated, as Andre Akkari was just reduce in a three-way hand.

After pushing his short stack of 275,000 all in from middle position with 7♥5♦, Akkari watched two players push all in behind him -- one holding A♥K♦ and another A♦Q♣. The board ran out 3♣4♣2♣J♦T♣ to provide the latter a flush, ok for 2 eliminations including Akkari.

ESPT Barcelona-515 Andre Akkari Dermot Blain.jpg

Andre Akkari

1:11 p.m.: Montgomery moves on, Selles soaring

2008 November Niner Scott Montgomery is out, his 6♠4♠ failing him versus Daniel Selles's 9♠7♠ on a board of 7♦J♦A♠8♠T♠. Because the Canadian moves over to the cashier's desk, the Spaniard Selles is now up over 3 million.

1:05 p.m.: Level 24 begins

The blinds go as much as 15,000/30,000 and the ante is now 4,000. Fourteen players fell in the course of the day's first level, meaning 84 remain.

12:51 p.m.: River saves Novikova

We watched Liliya Novikova of Team PokerStars Pro Online turn down a call for participation to commit most of her stack versus a shorter stack's all in after much consideration. Today she decided it was time to commit after putting herself in peril with T♣T♠ versus Farid Chati's A♥Q♠.

The J♥Q♥A♠ flop was bad news for Novikova, giving Chati two pair and the lead, and after the 6♥ turn she was one card clear of elimination. Then came the river... the K♦! Novikova had made Broadway, and he or she survives with a stack of about 725,000. Chati now has concerning the same stack as well.

ESPT Barcelona-519 Liliya Novikova.jpg

Liliya Novikova

12:42 p.m.: Koorits survives

After a Jude Ainsworth opening raise, Kaido Koorits of Estonia reraised all in behind for approximately 350,000, then Mark Kelsall came around the highest of that with a shove, forcing folds back around. Ainsworth stepped aside as well.

Koorits tabled 3♠3♦ while Kelsall had Q♣Q♠. Koorits needed help, and the community cards brought it by coming 2♥5♥4♣A♥9♥ to present Koorits a wheel and survival.

12:35 p.m.: Novara among early eliminations

The field has shrunk below 90 players now as there were several eliminations throughout the day's first orbits. Delfino Novara was the most recent to lose his short stack after his 9♦5♠ did not catch as much as Patrice Brandt's A♥6♣ on a Q♠8♣A♣4♥8♥ board.

12:29 p.m.: Knockouts left and right

Following Mondolini to the rail were Igor Kunitskiy, Kenneth Hicks, and Jan Dentler because the eliminations are coming rapidly to start out the day.

12:19 p.m.: Mondoloni meets end

PokerStars qualifier Florent Mondoloni started today as probably the most short stacks with just 260,000, and shortly after play began he had all of these chips within the middle versus Ivan Arbatskii.

Alas for Mondoloni, his A♠J♥ needed improvement against Arbatskii's A♣Q♣. The flop and switch came 4♠T♣T♥4♣, putting in a potential chop, however the Q♠ fell on fifth street to provide Arbatskii the easier hand and end Mondoloni's tournament run.

12:05 p.m.: Shuffle up and deal

The 98 remaining players have taken their seats over at the side of the principle poker room, and play is underway. Jose Carlos Garcia begins with the chip lead (3.752 million), with Nikolay Fal (3.302 million), Jonn Forst (3.08 million), and Mario Lopez (2.455 million) his nearest challengers to start out the day.

New Hampshire Senate Pases Casino BillNO Deposit bonus $43

The Senate of recent Hampshire rejected a home bill raising taxes and instead offered slot machine gambling as a income to handle the budget shortfall.

Play the Best Slots at Superslots Casino! The brand new Hampshire Senate beat a looming deadline and approved a bill permitting as much as four casino licenses and as many as 10,000 slot machines for the state. Work at the state budget needed to be finished by midnight last night, just hours after the gambling revenue plan passed.

Authorities have said New Hampshire faces a $300 million budget shortfall by the tip of the bi-annual fiscal period in June 2011. The Senate rejected a home counter-proposal which might cut $181 million from the deficit, instead choosing its expanded gaming plan that is estimated to avoid wasting $283 million.

The House has rejected previous attempts to expand gambling, and prospects for the newest bill are uncertain once it's considered by the home. The Senate bill says $80 million in taxes may well be raised from slot machine gambling in 2011.

“This presents a balanced budget, one who reduces taxes, restores essential services and forestalls downshifts to municipalities and providers,” said state Senator Kathleen Sgambati of the Senate bill.

The bill glided by a 14-10 vote.

The House bill including provisions for raising taxes, while the Senate gambling measure didn't require higher taxes on residents.

The long and winding roadNO Deposit bonus $43

I'm scripting this just after getting back from LAPT Panama. In fact, I HAVE BEEN traveling a lotlately, including a visit to EPT Barcelona in addition to another to a PokerStars gathering in Costa Rica where there has been a staff tournament, a freeroll for all the employees. I TRULY ended up winning the tournament which, of course, is often a fun thing to do, but that trip was fun for other reasons, too.

There were probably about 100 people participating within the freeroll, and the most productive a part of the experience was attending to consult lots of people with whom I communicate via email or even meet in passing at various events. It was great to get to understand everyone a bit of better. Everyone was super nice to me and they are all obviously very hard workers.

angel guillen blog.JPG

The freerollin' Angel Guillen

I met a couple of guys at the language team who do a large number of translation work, in addition to people from the support team and the safety team. It was interesting to listen to about all the measures they take to maintain the positioning safe from collusion, multi-accounting, and so forth. A part of that effort includes having a team who analyze hands, and they're always studying poker and improving their knowledge in regards to the game, like players, really, to allow them to interpret hand histories and understand every situation to forestall cheating.

Chris Moneymaker was there to boot with me, and he and that i made a final longer bet. There have been two tourneys, and as I say I won the primary one. There has been a prize of 60,000 FPPs, and that i gave it to everyone on the final table which meant those finishing second through ninth all split it up. Then Chris played the second one tournament with me and he ended up going deeper and so won our bet.

After Costa Rica I came back to Mexico for a celebration celebrating our Independence Day. That was the plan, anyway. It turned out I played some tournaments while I USED TO BE there and had an excessively deep run within the Sunday 500 where I STOPPED third, which caused me to overlook the party.

angel guillen mexico.jpg

Viva Mexico! Guillen captains his home team

From there, it was directly to LAPT Panama where I had a good run basically Event, finishing 46th out of 570 players. I also played the High Roller and finished fifth, which was good. The entire trip was enjoyable as I'VE a large number of friends in Panama and we were in a position to hang around and party a lot.

I'll be back at the road again as I WILL BE going to La (to peer my girlfriend, Lynn), to London (for the EPT), after which to France (for the WSOPE and WPT Paris). I'm traveling with a few Mexican brothers who've been playing and winning so much lately, Santiago and Jose Manuel Nadal. They have been winning so much at the LAPT, and in reality both had deep runs within the WSOP Main Event this year with Jose Manuel finishing 174th and Santiago 278th.

The road can also be hard, but it's great to have friends to peer and to take the adventure with you.

Thanksgiving Week The objective Date For brand spanking new Jersey Online GamblingNO Deposit bonus $43

Published on September 23, 2013 by April Gardner

Residents within the state of latest Jersey has been spoiled in terms of the liberation of casino gambling, and now it seems that regulators in New Jersey are preparing to provide residents an additional treat this Thanksgiving.

On Monday, regulators announced that they were still on pace to hit their target date of November 26th to launch the states first online casino. The date, just two days before Thanksgiving, will give residents something to appear forward to while they digest their Thanksgiving meals.

The biggest winners within the expansion of online gambling in New Jersey would be the struggling Atlantic City casinos. The AC casinos haven't rebounded from the 2008 economic recession, and are waiting for taking their brands online.

"If New Jersey can meet that November 26th deadline, it could provide an enormous boost for Atlantic City casinos," said analyst Neal Sommerson. "Heading right into a holiday weekend with a brand new product to supply the millions of residents so that they can be home on vacation, should provide casinos with a tight opportunity to place up strong revenue numbers out of the gate."

New jersey is certainly one of three states that experience created online gambling regulation laws over the last two years. Nevada has already launched their first online casino in BETA mode, with a difficult opening of alternative casinos expected to come back within the following few weeks. Delaware has also regulated the industry.

Lawmakers in New Jersey and Nevada have left the door open for pooling their players should federal laws change. Currently, there are not any federal online gambling regulations. Legislators has been pushing for law changes on the federal level before too many states authorize the activity on their own, leaving the government and not using a piece of the gambling revenue generated in these states.

WCP VIII: Day 1 ends hopes of Italian double, resurgent Germany topNO Deposit bonus $43

PCA-2010-thumbnail.jpg

Who would have thought it? Reigning champions Italy out with barely a whimper. After round one and two performances that left them languishing in ninth position at the leader board, Italy limped out in their title defence with a ninth-place exit within the multi-table madness of round three. An ignominious end to a disappointing day for Captain Luca Pagano, an experience somewhat different from last year's finale.

Italy were first to go away (5 points) and so they were followed by Team Remainder of the arena (10) and Costa Rica (15) before an outstanding one-man survival show from Anthony Monestes booked France 20 points for a sixth place finish. That left five nations with Japanese captain Masaaki Kagawa the player shoving but after a superb day they fell in fifth (25) leaving Peru to grind on before falling in fourth (30).

Three nations battled on past midnight, greater than six hours after round three began, with the Netherlands on top of things but Boeken doubled up Heitmann as plucky Tajikistan fought on. Tajikistan were the following to head (35) losing a flip to Germany putting in a Dutch-German heads up. The captains battled for a little while before Klaus Hornchurch despatched Johan van Til to take the entire 50 points completing an epic comeback for Germany who had finished the primary round in last place. They now lead Japan by one point.

1. Germany, 105 points
2. Japan, 104 points
3. Peru, 98 points
4. Netherlands, 97 points
5. Tajikistan, 92 points
6. France, 86 points
7. Remainder of the World, 74 points

UIGEA Online Casino Ban Might help Money LaunderersNO Deposit bonus $43

A gaming-law expert says the block on online casino payment transactions may increase instead of impede money laundering.

One of the most dubious reasons given for the need of the UIGEA ban on payment processing to online casinos is the prevention of cash laundering. However the actual results of implementing the problematic law could also be to drive transactions to shadier companies prone to engage in money laundering.

Joseph M. Kelly, knowledgeable in gambling laws from Buffalo State University, told the la Times that forcing established and honorable processors out of the web gambling transaction business may very well increase the risks of cash laundering. Online casinos currently coping with reputable firms can have no choice but to make use of less scrupulous companies once the UIGEA is implemented on December 1st.

"You diminish reputable payment processors and replace them with people who don't leave a paper trail," Kelly said of the effect of the UIGEA.

Further, the paper quotes an official from the yank Bankers Association who testified during Congressional hearing at the UIGEA that the law would don't have any" prospect of practical success" in fighting money laundering.

Experts appear to agree that payments will still get processed, but with the added inadvertent burden of straining the U.S. economic system. As ABA spokesmen pointed out, not just is the law requiring examination of over 93 billion transactions processed, but expects an unrealistic streamlining and efficient communication between US banks and foreign banks ungoverned by the UIGEA.

PCA 2016: Pires leads Main Event for third consecutive dayNO Deposit bonus $43

With 19 players left within the 2016 PCA Main Event, finding the chip leader have been made the entire easier by the truth that it's the exact same man it's been for the past three days. Leonardo Pires has not backed off the gas once in 72 hours, and his efforts have led to a chip stack worth greater than 4.5 million. Thats 187 big blinds.

In Brazil, finding a Pires is like finding a McDonalds. They're everywhere. Between the Portuguese Pireses and Brazilian Pireses, there are nearly 50 of them famous enough to have their very own Wikipedia page. Leonardo Pires aims to extend that number by one.

The wild and crazy Brazilian finished Day 2 with the chip lead. Then he finished Day 3 with the chip lead. On Day 4, he did it again together with his friend poker ally Marcelo railing him for many of the day. Marcelo told us somewhat in regards to the man of the moment.

Pires hails from the town of Belo Horizonte - the sixth largest in Brazil - and is an ordinary Omaha cash game player. However, after winning a casino tournament in Uruguay for $50,000 last month, he has decided to offer poker tournaments a shot.

It has clearly been a fair decision. The person who goes by the nickname 'Leo Burguês' (meaning a person of high class and wealth), is storming his way through this Main Event.

It's tempting to maintain our focus keenly on Brazilian, but it surely can be a mistake not to keep tabs at the smiling face of Phillip McAllister. After a gentle rise throughout the field over the last couple of days, McAllister stuck his talons within the top of the leaderboard on Monday afternoon.

His runner-runner royal flush at the feature table (examine at it 6:45pm here) will go down as one of the crucial PCA's legendary hands, and it helped McAllister land within the top five.

Phillip McAllister, all smiles

These two men spent the tip of the day seated next to one another. In the event that they were the one show, it would've been enough. But just have a look at this remaining field. Have a look at it and picture what may well be. Fabian Ortiz made the overall table a few years ago and has two LAPT titles to his name. Tony Gregg already has two PCA Main Event final tables and an excellent High High Roller final on his resume. That does not even start to consider the likes of powerhouses Stephen Chidwick, Toby Lewis, Mike Watson, and...oh just see for yourself. This may be a very good one.
