The World Poker Tour is ready to go back to the Maryland Live! Casino for the second one annual WPT Maryland Live! $3,500 no-limit hold’em main event, the center-piece of an 11-event tournament series running from September 23 – October 5. The primary event is ready to run from includes a $1,500,000 guaranteed prize pool, with over $2 million in guarantees within the series.

Maryland Live! is conveniently located between Baltimore and Washington D.C. and is home to a 15,000 square foot, 52-table poker site. The room, which opened just three years ago, is the biggest within the state of Maryland and some of the biggest within the country.

Last year saw the inaugural running of the WPT Maryland Live! main event. The tournament drew a field of 337 entries to construct a seven-figure prize pool. In spite of everything Aaron Mermelstein emerged victorious, capturing his second WPT title and the $250,222 first-place prize.

Mermelstein defeated a stacked final table on his road to the title, outlasting rising star Cate Hall, Andjelko Andrejevic and Maryland native Greg Merson, who in fact won the arena Series of Poker main event title in 2012.

In addition to the primary event this year’s series will even see 10 other exciting events take place, including a $100,000 guaranteed $350 buy-in kickoff event that runs from Sept. 24 – 25 and a $100,000 guaranteed $1,100 buy-in no-limit hold’em event on Sept. 29.

The winners of the primary seven events at the schedule might be entered into the ‘Festival Championship’ and feature the danger to compete for a free seat into the $3,500 no-limit hold’em main event on Sept. 30.

There can be a $7,500 high roller event on Oct. 3 and a $100,000 guaranteed knockout bounty $1,100 event on Oct. 4.
