EPT13 Barcelona: Patrick Serda leads €10K Single Re-entry field into Day 2NO Deposit bonus $43

While our attention today was focused predominantly on Day 1A of the Estrellas Main Event, we couldn't help but notice the swarms of giant name high rollers that were gathering together within the opposite corner of the room. Congregated swarms usually mean a virulent disease; but here at EPT13 Barcelona, it means Day 1 of the €10,300 NLHE Single Re-entry tournament.

A total of 186 players invested on this one, with 37 using their re-entry option, bringing it to 223 entries total. It's worth noting though that lots of those players who busted today - including Chance Kornuth, Max Silver, and the legendary Eric Seidel who made a late exit - can still re-enter tomorrow when blinds will start at 1,000/2,000 with a 3,000 ante.

Who turned out for this one? Well, almost about everyone it's essential to name. However the player who held probably the most chips on the end of the night was Canada's Patrick Serda, a relative newcomer to those events in comparison to many names within the field who won his entry through a live satellite. He ended the day with 355,000 - the one player who finished above the 300K mark.

Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree was the only real representative of the red spade here on Day 1, ultimately finishing with 115,600.

The UK's Patrick Leonard was chipleader around midway through today's play holding roughly 200,000. By the end, he'd improved somewhat more to complete with 235,100.
