The upcoming film “Molly’s Game,” in an effort to be the directorial debut for Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, will star Jessica Chastain (pictured right) and Idris Elba, consistent with a report from The Guardian.

Chastain will play poker organizer Molly Bloom, who earned $1 million from running high-stakes underground games for celebrities and rich businessmen. Elba will play her lawyer.

The film is listed as in pre-production on IMDB and doesn’t have a release date yet.

The 39-year-old Chastain was in movies similar to “Interstellar” and “The Martian.”

Bloom was indicted by the federal government, but took a plea in 2014 and didn’t visit prison.

“The casting of Jessica and Idris within the two lead roles is any film-maker’s dream come true,” Sorkin said in a press release. “They’re two of the best actors in their generation, paired for the primary time, and their chemistry might be electric.”

Sorkin was hired because the screenwriter for the film adaptation of Bloom’s memoir back in 2014, but later agreed to direct the project as well.
